About Us
Eureka Editions is a family business founded 17 august 1981 by Siebold Tromp and Patricia Tromp-Guégan. Eureka Editions is a publishing house and a secondhand bookstore specializing in (rare) 4th way books, philosophy, psychology & analytical psychology, spirituality, cultures & beliefs, religion, history & archaeology, literature, fantasy, nature & more. We sell (rare) books in English, Dutch, French and German.
The business started as (and still is) an independent secondhand bookstore in the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. In time Eureka became Eureka Editions by adding to its activities a small publishing house specializing in 4th way books.
Eureka Editions was first located on the Herenstraat 15 in Utrecht. After Siebold and Patricia tried their luck in the French village of Brignoles they came back to Utrecht to settle on the Nachtegaalstraat for a period of 20 something years. When the turn of the new century came they moved once again to an other location in Utrecht, a small side street of the Herenstraat, the Jeruzalemstraat. Deciding to close the secondhand bookstore and focus on the publishing house they relocated back to the Herenstraat, this time on number 4A, where we are currently located.
For 20 years, Siebold and Patricia worked on their editions, publishing more than 40 titles either within the teachings of the 4th Way or within domains such as spirituality, philosophy, kabbalistic tales and more.
When Siebold died in October 2022, Anaël (his youngest daughter) took over the business with the help of Patricia and Julien Vignal. Initially, taking over the business was not planned and the idea was just to finish working on the manuscript (The Gospel of St John, an interpretation by J.P. Pettavel) that was planned for publishing before Siebold's untimely death. The idea and will to reopen the secondhand bookstore and continue the publishing house developed steadily after taking over the business. In the 3 years that Anaël took over the business 'The interpretation of the Gospel of St John' was published and the opening days of the store increased from 1 to 5 days per week. As the business develops again, Julien Vignal (Anaël's partner) is more and more involved and together they are hoping to prolong the 44 years of Eureka Edition's Existence.
Eureka Editions hopes to root its presence on the internet, as a reference for 4th way books, esoteric, spiritual, philosophical, literary (rare) books in diverse languages such as English, French, Dutch, German and others in the future.
