Canterbury, the story of a cathedral by Sally Rousham 

Canterbury Cathedral has stood as a living witness to human's belief in God for more than nine hundred years. Its timeless beauty has been a source of spiritual inspiration to people all over the world.

Each year millions of visitors come to Canterbury. The exhibition in the western Crypt is for their benefit. It is designed to increase their understanding of this great Cathedral, its building, its music, the people who have worked and do work in it, and the part it has played in British history.

At the time of the Canterbury Cathedral Appeal, it is particularly appropriate to focus attention on the significance of this, the Mother Church of English Christianity. It has stood for so much in the past and will continue to do so for future generations.
