Living Time and the Integration of the Life by Maurice Nicoll - 1976 Watkins Edition
'We exist in a world that we do not understand in the least' writes Dr. Maurice Nicoll and asks 'What is nature? What is time? What is space? What are we?' The Sunday Times found this 'one of those rare books which can have a lasting effect on the reader's thinking and give new meaning to the universe,' and the Times Literary Supplement described it as 'throughout a triumph of clarity and good writing.'
The author, who took a first in Science at Cambridge, was a distinguished Harley Street neurologist and pioneer in psychological medicine, deeply influenced by his studies with Dr. C.G. Jung, and later associated with the work of G.I. Gurdjieff and the Russian philosopher Ouspensky. His Psychological Commentaries on the Teaching of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky are regarded by many as the most accessible approach to the ideas of the enigmatic Gurdjieff. Since Dr. Nicoll's death his interpretations of the inner meaning of Christian ideas, published as The Mark and The New Man, have found an ever-widening circle of readers.
