The Secret Doctrine in two volumes by H.P. Blavatsky

Volume I: Cosmogenesis, Blavatsky details the birth and mechanics of the universe by stripping away the idea of a "creator" in favor of a universal law. To Blavatsky, there is no such thing as empty space or dead matter; every single atom is a living "Monad" with its own tiny spark of consciousness, all working together in a massive, interconnected web of life. The book's primary point is that the universe is a conscious training ground where spirit descends into matter just to learn how to master it.

Volume II: Anthropogenesis, the focus shifts to a "secret history" of the human race that contradicts both the Bible and Darwin. Blavatsky explains that humans are millions of years older than science claims and that we didn't start as animals, but as spiritual beings. This volume covers the rise and fall of civilizations on lost continents like Lemuria and Atlantis, arguing that these weren't just myths, but stages of our development. The "point" of being human, according to this text, began when we were given the "spark of mind," which granted us free will and the law of Karma.
